From the Great Blasket, a western Isle that once had a village on it, the mainland looks tiny. The small islands that dot the peninsula's western seaboard are all mythologically famous. This was our one day of summer and the spectacular white sands reflect an almost Mediterranean colour. They are a little colder mind!

... and I miss the sound of waves, the scent of the sea on a strong wind ... and the calls of seabirds ...
